Our old table
So I hinted recently about a few home updates and one of
those is our eat in kitchen. We don’t have a dining room so making the most of
our space is crucial. I have wanted a rectangle farmhouse table for a long time
but didn’t think it would fit in our space. Well I started thinking if we get
rid of some other pieces of furniture in that area we could probably make it
work and viola… it worked! We got rid of our make shift side board. I usually
do a lot of seasonal decorations on it so I will have to come up with other
ways to decorate from now on but I think the use of that back wall for the
bench on the new table and the room it created in that area totally make up for
it! Our round table isn’t gone yet. We are currently selling it but I wanted to
start using the “new” to us table so we switched them out ahead of the hopeful
sale of our old one. This new table cost me, a whopping $85 bucks. That’s
right, that’s not a typo. A friend texted me as soon as she saw this table for
sale on Facebook. Thanks Hannah!!!!! And I drove over to see it and snatched it
up. We are currently using our old black chairs with it but as soon as we sell
the old table I have these chairs in mind to round out
the look. I also want to paint our walls. But Rome wasn't built in day...
We christened the new table this week with my husband’s 34th
birthday dinner with my in-laws. A menu of Chicken street tacos and Krispy
Kreme original glazed doughnuts… his choice. He is a picky one. Really he
should be 60 instead of 34, if we
went on how he acts alone. He really is an old timer. He should have been born
years before his time. He is one of a kind and tells it how it is. He keeps me
grounded and even when we don’t agree I know he has good reason for his stance
on things. He is one of the smartest people I have ever known, loyal,
hardworking, trustworthy, and caring; however he is one of those people that
you cannot read. He doesn’t wear his feelings on his sleeve, ever. You would
never know how much thought and love he has inside because he just isn’t the
kind to show it. He is all ours and we are super proud of him. Love you Babe,
no matter if we did fight last night because you thought it would be a
great idea to try and move the bottom half of the new bunk bed down the hall
alone, when I had already told you that I would help you once I got through
putting Sawyer down to bed… and you got them stuck! And then you get mad and say I am
making things more difficult on you… really? I think you did that all on your
own bud! He was tired and didn’t want to wait, that I get. But moving a full sized
bed down a narrow hallway alone just isn’t going to end well babe… What goes
through your mind sometimes I will never know… I still Love you though! And our boys adore you… Happy 34th
Birthday!
Talk to yall soon.
Love Heather.
