So on New Year’s Day we stayed in and did a lot of nothing,
which was WONDERFUL after the holiday season wore us all out. I made this super cute collage from some of my favorite pics of 2017, from an app I have just learned about from a friend. Thanks Ashley!!! Have I been living under a rock? I don't know how I didn't know about it already! It's called PhotoGrid. This app is great because the pictures still keep their resolution, you can use a ton of pics(unlike other apps where you are limited to like 6) you can crop, rotate, zoom and flip the pictures to your hearts content. I love it!!!
I also cleaned a little, took down my outside
Christmas décor (not the best day for it here in Ringgold since it was 15
degrees) and made that famous southern New Year’s Day staple of turnip greens
(collards if you choose) and black eyed peas. It was such a great meal of comfort food to go
along with our laid back day. I caught up on some social
media updates and one of my favorites, Heather Land, the “I AINT DOIN IT” lady.
My kids love her too. They love to imitate her and use the Snap chat filters. Some
of our best Friday nights are filled with pizza, movies and using Snapchat. The
kids love these and we crack up laughing at the pictures and videos we make. So
much fun!!!
I love her videos as well as her written blog posts because
she is just so real. She is just tellin it like it is and you can like it or
not but that’s just her. She also loves God and you can certainly tell from her
posts. She often talks about struggle and hardships and the faith in God that
it takes to get through these tough times in life. We all have rough patches
and low points and that’s why I think so many people relate to her. She is
saying what a lot of us are thinking and giving the advice she has come to know
in the hopes she can help others with a little bit of her hard earned wisdom.
That’s what we should all be doing in my opinion…helping each other out along
the way… “ Yah honey I have been there and got the T-shirt and I am here to
tell you to steer clear of this and that and you might not fall prey to what I
went through.” Those hilarious videos just draw people in for the good stuff,
the raw meat of what she is trying to say, which to me is just to try your best
to be a good person, learn some common sense and street smarts and trust in God
because…. if you keep the faith and keep on keepin on its all gonna be ok. If
you get a chance pop on over to her page, Heatherland.blog and check out her Facebook page for all her hysterical
videos. Below are some of our many Instagram pics… enjoy.
Talk to ya’ll soon.
Love Heather
